We are happy to announce that we will hold the “Hacker Contest” seminar at the TU Darmstadt again this winter semester. In the course of a cooperation between the two universities, we will also offer the Hacker Contest at the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt (h_da) for the first time this year.
Starting this winter semester 2017/2018, we will provide students with the opportunity to experience IT security practically. They will be able to test attack methods and security measures for networks and systems in a secured environment for which the usd Hero Lab provides the technological basis. IT forensics, the analyses conducted in case of suspicions or following an incident, will also be covered.
Christian Frei, head of usd’s Security Analysis & Pentests department, will lead through the seminar at the TU Darmstadt. Ralf Almon, Senior Consultant Pentest & Forensics, will hold the seminar at the h_da. Frei said: “We are very happy with the students’ positive response again this year. In this seminar, students will be able to train in IT security in a way that is really close to reality.”
