For the third time in a row, Goethe University Frankfurt and usd AG joint forces to hold a seminar for more security. On February 4th, the business informatics master students attending the seminar presented the results of their work.
The presentations formed the conclusion of the seminar “Cyber Security – strategies, analytics and technical support systems”, which had been offered by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang König from Goethe University Frankfurt and Dr. Kai Schubert from usd AG this winter semester.
Based on this year’s topics “Security Awareness”, “Security Management” and “Collaborative Pentesting”, the students had to critically adress questions regarding strategies, SETA programs and collaboration in the context of cyber security. In order to do this, they interviewed experienced consultants, for example.
Prof. Dr. Wolfgang König explains the objectives of such project seminars and their importance for the students: “The threats in the cyber security world are growing in number and quality. That’s why it’s so important zu raise awareness, test the effectiveness of security mechanisms and review the contributions we can make to society. Experts of the present sharing their knowledge with future experts is only the first step towards that goal.”
“The presentation today was a great closing event for our seminar. You could see that there was a great the interest in the students’ work by the number of usd colleagues who were attending” Dr. Kai Schubert reported.
After the presentation, usd CEO Manfred Tubach took the students for a tour through the usd offices. We would be happy to welcome all of the seminar attendees back with us soon.
